Tech Credit Union in Northwest Indiana, 45 miles from Chicago, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to oversee our Accounting Department and become a part of our executive team. We are looking for an experienced manager who possesses excellent judgement, problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills who will be responsible for the soundness and integrity of the credit union's financial data and accounting system. The key functions for this role are to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department consisting of 8 staff members, prepare financial statements, reconcile correspondent bank adjustments, prepare reports for the Board of Directors, monitor balances in general ledger accounts, and be responsible for the inventory of fixed assets. This person will be responsible for all federal reporting requirements and will serve as the Compliance Officer for the credit union. The VP of Finance serves on several committees including the Business Lending Committee, IT Steering Committee and ALM Committee. We are seeking an individual with strong analytical skills, who has a complete understanding of asset liability management and ideally who understands the C.Myers risk assessment model. The VP of Finance will report directly to the President / CEO and will be involved in the strategic planning and budgeting processes for the credit union.
Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably with an advanced degree or CPA certification. Minimum of 2 years of management experience required, preferably in a credit union or similar environment.
